But why do you continue to play below your level yourself?

Why do so many smart, ambitious women spend years building others' growth while their own potential remains underutilized, diminishing their own growth, ability and freedom?

When we pull each other up, we grow together. When we make other women visible, sponsor, promote and connect, we change the collective power of the system. That community connection and pulling each other up is the route to greater equality, success and leadership.

And yes, there is truth to it. I strongly believe in female connection, collaboration and creating spaces where women empower each other. I myself have spent years building strategic networks with many different stakeholders and stakeholders (national and international), of communities, coalitions and relationships. I have helped women strategically network, negotiate and grow, become visible and take bigger steps in their leadership and entrepreneurship.

But somewhere along the way, I had to face an uncomfortable truth myself.

The women who invest the most in supporting others are remarkably often the women who position themselves least fully.

They give value, but do not claim their place.

They build relationships, but not power.

They create impact for others, but do not build enough ownership around their own position, visibility and financial freedom.

And that's exactly where a pattern emerges that keeps many highly educated, ambitious women small for years without them even realizing it.

Why does ‘supporting others’ so rarely work as a growth strategy for you personally?

For many women, ‘helping’ others becomes a socially accepted form of self-subversion. And this is not of course not an attack on female collaborations, quite the contrary. But rather to look at this system from a different perspective and then engage in a deeper conversation about leadership, positioning and ownership.

Because what I have experienced and also seen through in over twenty years of working with women leaders, high potentials and entrepreneurs is that many women unconsciously condition themselves to be valuable to others, while forgetting to become strategically valuable to themselves. Giving others the stage even though they themselves have long recognized where the challenges and opportunities lay. Mostly forerunners who are ‘too’ early and ‘too’ fast, but then didn't get (h)recognized by others, but didn't go full steam ahead with that either.

That difference seems small, but if you know how to turn it into influential value, everything changes.

Because,

Giving support is not the same as taking a position.

Networking is not the same as gaining influence.

Making others visible is not the same as yourself filling the space that is yours.

And in the meantime, you get stuck and one crucial question often remains unanswered:

Who is investing with the same intensity in your growth, visibility, position and financial expansion?

Not because they don't have enough talent. Not because they don't work hard enough. But because they have learned for years that giving feels safer than claiming. And being visible still feels more uncomfortable for many women than working hard in the background. This is why so many brilliant and potential women remain stuck in a position where they are valued but not truly leading.

The moment I had to face this with myself and change my own leadership

I went through this myself and recognize this pattern not only professionally. I have lived it myself. I gave, shared, connected. I built relationships and thought that creating value would naturally lead to position. That recognition would follow as long as I contributed enough. I believed that creating value would naturally lead to position. That as long as I gave enough, contributed, connected and invested in others, recognition would eventually follow naturally. But the higher up you get, the harder the game is played and the more I had to recognize that I was valuable to others but had not claimed my own position.

And that's a vulnerable place. Not because you didn't do enough. But because you built on someone else's foundation while yours waited. That I believed in the promises made to me and waited for them to come and offer it to me. And when I look back on it now, they were very good lessons that I can now translate precisely as value and put to use in my own business.

Because that insight changed everything. Not only in how I positioned myself, to strategically enrich (and not just strengthen) my own network, but also in how and with what I guide, strengthen and enrich my clients. Because this blind spot is not personal. It is structural, systemic and leads to stagnation if you don't visibly change it yourself, you keep waiting and don't claim your position and your gift for yourself.

I built relationships. I shared knowledge. I helped others grow. And I was good at that. But they eventually walked away with it and stood by ... and watched it.

Recognizing the pattern, I had to honestly acknowledge that I had become mostly valuable for the growth of others and that I was not sufficiently claiming my own position. That was confronting. Not because I had achieved nothing, but because I saw how much energy had gone out for years without the same strategic focus on my own positioning, growth on a larger scale and financially sound architecture.

And I won't get anywhere here unless I raise my head above the ground, because this is no longer modesty. Because building on the visibility of others while continuing to diffuse my own authority is a strategic misalignment that has enormous impact on growth, income, influence and freedom.

Why being valuable is not the same as being indispensably positioned

With valuable knowledge alone, you're not going to make it in a competitive market. And this is where many women make a crucial mistake. They think they have a challenge in their marketing and presentation because their quality is not being noticed right now. They have so much potential, experience and expertise, but don't know how to (re)position and (re)structure strongly into an offering that sells itself convincingly.

In an increasingly crowded, fast-paced and competitive marketplace, that no longer works. Certainly not in an era where Artificial Intelligence (AI) makes your knowledge accessible to everyone. Knowledge alone no longer sets you apart. Nor, for that matter, does hard work. Even experience is no longer enough when your positioning remains unclear.

What the market rewards today is not just expertise, but clear leadership and unmistakable positioning. The women who are really breaking through understand that. And that both in companies (salaried) and for women entrepreneurs in their own businesses.

Because building a career is not only about content knowledge and quality, but also how you position and present yourself, how others/the market see, understand and remember you.

The women who break through do not wait for others to recognize them as experts. They position themselves as a reference point within their niche, vision or area of expertise. This requires a completely different form of leadership as well as entrepreneurship. Because once you really claim your position, you have to become visible at a level that many women are still uncomfortable with. Then you can no longer hide behind servitude, modesty or endless giving.

Then you must dare to stand for your vision, value and price.

The women who are rising up, I see them breaking through because they are going to do something fundamentally different. They are supporting other women, yes, but that is not their strategy. That is their outcome of leadership from their essence and power. They are not building a network to be liked. They build influence because they have taken a position that justifies it. They don't wait for the market to recognize them. They position themselves as a reference point and determine for themselves what their expertise is worth. They don't just invest in relationships. They invest in themselves, in their positioning, in their business, price and financial architecture, and in their personal leadership.

The difference is not just talent, not sec their network, but the difference is ownership over the three layers that define growth: who you are, how you position yourself and how you build value, wealth and your financial freedom.

The reason why so many smart women remain financially below their potential

Many women underestimate how much time, energy AND money is lost due to incorrect positioning.

They continue to communicate too broadly.
They try to be meaningful to everyone.
They build a business model around hard work instead of scalable value creation.

And meanwhile, they get exhausted while real growth fails to materialize. That's why I always talk about three layers of sustainable growth: personal leadership, strategic positioning and financial architecture. Whatever I The Integral Growth Systems™ mention. There where many leadership program work one-dimensionally, I see through the added value and strategic opportunities to grow integrally three-dimensionally. Personal, business and financial.

Because when one of those layers is missing, instability occurs:

Strong positioning without personal energy eventually leads to exhaustion.

Personal development without a financial strategy remains an undervalued project.

Financial growth without leadership often creates a successful-looking prison.

It requires investing too strategically (initially) with your time and energy to be able to reinvest from that your profits and have them compound over time. Profitable growth and long-term sustainable freedom, which will only grow exponentially when those three layers reinforce each other. And that requires a much more strategic way of building than most women have ever learned.

Why is this more urgent than ever in an AI-driven marketplace?

We are living in a moment of fundamental market change, a shift and change in the way of life, work, leadership and of many systems, which are beginning to crack because it can no longer be sustained.

Like the companies that continue to compete on knowledge, hours and availability are going to find it increasingly difficult. Not because they are not intelligent enough, but because the market is paying less and less for what becomes easily reproducible.

That's why positioning is becoming more important than ever. People aren't just buying information. They buy perspective, leadership, confidence, direction and strategic clarity. People do business with people. They choose people who stand for something. No longer just experts, but people who have a clear vision and position. I often call this The Intelligence Gap™. The gap between what you actually know, can and see ... and how the market perceives, understands and values you.

Many women have accumulated tremendous internal intelligence and experience, but their external positioning remains too small for their true potential. And you do not solve that gap by working harder, not by staying in a position you have long since outgrown. You solve it by consciously taking leadership over how you position, profile and structure yourself financially. Fully on your gift, potential and value. If you don't, then you leave room for growth, influence and income unused here.

So bridging the gap requires making choices: for your positioning, for your authority, for the scale structure that suits you. The women who understand this and act accordingly don't just build impact. They build their wealth and legacy without losing ownership, influence and freedom.

Freedom without proof, when you stop proving and start leading

That's where the real shift begins. When women truly claim their position, it's not just their business that changes. Their whole way of moving changes.

They stop constantly explaining why they are valuable.

They stop making themselves smaller to keep others comfortable.

They stop giving away energy to spaces that no longer support their growth.

Instead, they will reposition themselves (Phase 1: Reset), restructure their business and offerings (Phase 2: Redesign) they build more purposeful, more strategic, simplified sharper (Phase 3: Rebuild).

They understand that freedom is not an abstract feeling, but the result of conscious choices around health, leadership, positioning and money. They not only invest in others, but finally invest fully in themselves. And precisely because of that, they become more powerful leaders for those around them.

Because women who stand firmly in their own position help other women from abundance rather than from a desire to prove themselves. You feel that difference immediately.

And then for many, the condescending thoughts, the famous Gremlins in polonaise pass by, But no ladies, this is not selfishness. It's an invitation to honesty. And you know it too. Honesty about where you are putting your energy and whether that investment is flowing back to you. Honesty about whether your positioning matches the ambitions you have. Honesty about whether you are building freedom or a nice prison that looks ‘successful.

In my work with top clients, I always work on three layers at once, because separately they do not produce sustainable growth.

Personal leadership: energy as the foundation

No strategy works if you don't. Health, focus and mental clarity are not luxuries. Healthy life, healthy business, healthy financial future and not the other way around.

Business positioning: from valuable hard worker to indispensable authority

Stop trying to be useful to everyone. Become the first name dropped when new opportunities and possibilities present themselves, or when your ideal client has a problem that only you truly understand.

Financial architecture: building for margin and scalability

Power alone does not give freedom. Freedom is not a feeling. Ability and freedom are built consciously, not by accident.

The question you can no longer dodge

Where do you still use ‘helping others’ as a socially accepted way of not having to make yourself fully visible?

This is not a comfortable question, but it is a necessary one that you can no longer avoid. Because as long as you are busy promoting others, you yourself don't have to fully claim what you really want. Then you don't have to fully position yourself. Then you don't have to face what it really takes to take your place. And that is exactly where growth stops, where you are stuck in a place you have long since outgrown and where you are now seen and valued below your potential and value.

Ready to make your Intelligence Gap visible?

Maybe this is your time to finally start looking at your potential, your value and your assets differently, restructuring everything to build again. Look maturely, from a different perspective enriched at leadership, visibility, money and ownership. Because the women who truly build freedom, influence and lasting wealth in the years ahead are not automatically the women who do everything themselves, who think they should know everything themselves. They are the women who are willing to look beyond their own ‘Dyke of Equality’ and fully claim their position and value.

The first step is not to work even harder.
