Choosing not for ‘more,’ but for ‘better,’ because the biggest block to your growth is not a lack of potential, but an excess of noise. But what do you choose? 

Because for some time now you have been in a restless interim phase in which you feel that working harder and doing even more is no longer a solution, but would even be a wrong move. Not because you can't handle it, but because your body, your relationships and your inner compass let you know more and more clearly that further growth in this way costs too much.

Many of the women I mentor gave everything they had for years. They built a career, a business or a position of significance. They were reliable, sharp and loyal. The woman who stayed put when things got complex and took responsibility when others shrank back. That ability took them far. But it has also cost them a lot and also does not bring them farther now.

Not because they want less, but because they have become more. The pace at which you function, all the potential you have and the value you deliver is no longer proportional to what it brings. Success is increasingly achieved at the expense of space, presence and rest.

Not because you are failing, but because you have moved on and outgrown your current position.

The reason why simplicity is so exciting

Strategic simplicity makes visible what you really stand for. Complexity can mask. Busyness can mask. Doing a lot can distract from whether it's the right thing to do. I myself experienced this in my own constructed rat race. In sixth gear, a full-time job, a second job in sports (I call it my out-of-control hobby which actually became a second job), motherhood. Tightly regimented and it worked, got me far. But eventually I recognized that I had strayed too far from what was right, from who I had become and what I wanted to put my time and energy into.  

For many women, there is also something at play here, something deeper. The need to be taken seriously. To not be underestimated. To show that what you do has impact and meaning. In a world that often confuses status with complexity, simplicity sometimes feels like a risk, like taking a step back, or loss of status.

But just beyond this point, simplicity becomes a strength. Not as minimalism for the sake of minimalism, but as a conscious choice for essence. As in Italian cuisine, where the greatest refinement comes not from abundance, but from the masterful handling of a few ingredients perfectly matched.

Simplicity is not poverty. Strategic simplicity is craftsmanship.

Integral growth requires a different foundation

From here it is not enough just to plan smarter or work more efficiently. What is needed is an integral approach to growth. A way of development in which thinking, feeling and structuring are reconnected.

Many women function cognitively at high levels, but emotionally and systemically carry too much on their own. They have become accustomed to adapting, adjusting and solving. Not because they have to, but because they can. Until that ability slowly becomes a burden.

Integral growth begins when you recognize that not everything has to be carried by you. That systems are allowed to support. That technology is allowed to unburden. That leadership need not only be visible in doing, but also in letting.

Freezing as a strategic movement

Therefore, true growth in this phase begins not with action, but with stillness. Not as a retreat, but as a strategic choice. Stilling means temporarily stopping adding in order to see what is truly of value.

You make space in your head by reducing mental overload. Not because you are thinking less, but because you are thinking at a higher level. You make space emotionally by taking an honest look at where you've adjusted yourself for too long out of loyalty or expectation. And you make space systemically by reframing structures and technology as support for your life, rather than a constant stimulus.

In that space, demand naturally changes.

But: What do I tolerate and what do I really want to carry?

From that space, a new movement emerges. You redesign not only your work, but your relationship with success. You shift from effort to value. From proving to positioning. From always being available to being consciously present.
