The idea of being assured of your success and growth is a challenging subject. Success and growth are often subjective and can vary from person to person. How can you experience new success and growth in your life and business?
To prove it wasn't luck, I also coached other entrepreneurial leaders on my process. Since then, several of the consultants, founders and entrepreneurs I coach have grown:
Silke: Grew her sales and that with a strong strategic position, from hourly billing to a value-driven business and revenue model and more direction and time in her life and business. She already earned back her investment within our journey.
Judith: Grew her revenue from busy and undervalued managing to a strategic leadership position with a value-driven business and revenue model. No longer paid by hours, but by the value she delivers. She quit 50% of her current clients and got and 2 new top clients in return, with whom she achieves more in less time (achieves more in impact, revenue and time freedom). And she also scaled up her team, freeing herself to get back to doing what she does best, energizes and really makes her impact.
Heleen, Anne, Patricia: they were still working in /on their company alongside a salaried job, and by strengthening their position, offer and strategy they are now all VOL in their own business. They have been able to lead major changes themselves and that in turn brought them new changes and growth, personally, professionally and financially.
Why many entrepreneurs fail to achieve their desired growth?
The reason why most entrepreneurs fail to establish their businesses strongly, multiply their value and revenue is this:
They keep themselves small, are invisible, leave potential and value untapped and strive for 30% innovation and value improvement when they need 10X more.
But incremental improvements, innovations and value creation make you and your business grow relevant and forward-looking:
- Strengthen/change your position and leadership
- Enrich your offering, maximize your value and revenue
- Innovate your strategy - business, marketing, sales and content
- Simplify your processes and systems, delegate and save time, energy and costs
So your business will grow by 50% or even 100%. But they will not increase it 10X.
Here is my system to strengthen your position and your business growth:
- Content is compound interest
Most founders think they have a product problem. But in reality, they also have a visibility and attention problem. Because when more people know you and your value (offering), you make more money.
Especially now in the digital age, attention is abundant and cheap. To achieve the same yourself? Be consistently visible and stay relevant.
Think of building your personal brand as building a compound asset. Every piece of content you publish is a small deposit into the "emotional account" in your target audience's "attention bank. It often seems that nothing happens in the short term. But after months and years, those small deposits begin to accumulate. Followers (often silent followers) spontaneously walk into your business and want to work with you.
Eventually you reach a tipping point. And your reach and success grows exponentially.
Put yourself in a strong position to be seen, heard and appreciated
But the fact is, most people quit prematurely. Because they keep themselves (too) small, are invisible to their top customers, miss out on value and sales due to lack of focus, missing strategy and right actions at the right time and for the right people. Sin.
- Lurkers don't buy
The biggest mistake entrepreneurs and companies make on LinkedIn?
They try to sell to strangers before they have built trust. But you cannot collect value before you have built trust. That's why you have to give a hundred times before you can ask once.
Giving value = multiplying in time
Give all your value on social media. Capture value in your email list. I share my knowledge, experiences and systems that help my followers change and grow.
Be a giver, not a lurker (taker).
But do be strategic with your value and always consider ahead of time what you want to achieve(s). Because many look for all kinds of ways to go viral. Let themselves be fooled by all kinds of sample giveaways and quick marketing strategies in the "hope" of getting new customers by doing so. And unfortunately often come home from a cold spell and unfulfilled success.
- Strategic networking and partnering with your target audience
Work on building your network. Enrich and deepen your relationships and keep in touch with your target audience. Don't guess what your target audience wants. Ask your target audience.
- Ask your followers questions about their biggest challenges
- Send new subscribers a DM asking them what they are struggling with, what frustrates them and keeps them from growing.
- Look for common threads/patterns in responses and comments - what questions/topics come up most often?
Then make an offer that solves their burning problems. Not an offer you think they need. An offer that SHE says they want.
Never mind if your first offer sucks. Analyze and improve your offer. If you launch your offer and no one notices, launch again. I myself have re-launched an offer 3 times. And stopped offering another offer because I no longer felt the energy and drive in it myself (it was bought by not my top customers).
- Create a strategic lead magnet
Would you sign up for your current lead magnet? If your answer to that question is "no," why would you expect your target audience to do so?
A lead magnet is not a fluff video, disposable PDF or repackaged blog post. It is a strategic tool for converting social media attention into new right (!!!) followers and email subscribers.
Use these 5 steps for an irresistible lead magnet:
1. Specific (solves one problem for one target group).
2. Valuable (I could charge money for this).
3. Accessible (no emails that take several days to process).
4. Remarkable and thus impossible to ignore (attention-grabbing title and design)
5. Perfectly aligned (content naturally leads to your product ecosystem)
Your lead magnet's only job is to move people from "who are you?" to "what else do you have for me?" So give your value without expecting anything directly in return. And in time, you will get it back in whatever form it takes. And this combined with "lurkers don't buy": The more specifically you position yourself and offer your value to your top customers, the greater your reach(t) and you will grow successfully and faster.
- Writing newsletters that sell without selling
Once someone subscribes to your email list, your job is to give them value, connect with them, and inform their desires.
Because in fact, there are only 2 reasons why someone doesn't buy from you:
1. They don't want what you're selling (they don't understand you or don't need your offer)
2. They don't trust you enough yet (lack of relationship).
How do you write a weekly newsletter that gives and teaches rather than sells?
- Packed with valuable and applicable lessons, insights and tips
- Share customer success stories and case studies
- Give them behind-the-scenes access to your life and business
And close with a link to your offer, but in a helpful, non-intrusive way.
I spend more than 4 hours writing each weekly newsletter. It is the most valuable "content asset" you can create.

- Strengthen your visibility: Strategic reuse and omnichannel strategy
Creating content without strategy and focus is like haphazardly shooting with hail and hoping you hit something. You may hit and reach someone, but not who and what you would like to reach.
I use a system called Omnichannel strategy to create content that I reuse and post in different ways on different social media channels. By which I strengthen my expert status, position and visibility and my marketing runs on autopilot.
The 3 pillars for my Omnichannel strategy:
1. Define your positioning
- Determine what spot/position and why you want to be known for.
2. Create remarkable, engaging content
- Don't be boring and unremarkable. Use patterns and lessons from content to write remarkably appealing to your target audience.
- Board daily the best performing content in your niche. Get inspired and create your own voice and message to this. So don't copy but inspired better in your way, energy and valuable message. (So don't be that pancake who used my post including writing error...😉)
3. Profiling and communication
- Turn your profiles into a lead generator and marketing/sales machine:
- Link anywhere to your offerings and/or a scheduling tool (I use Calendly) to create a conversation schedule
- Use text CTAs to encourage direct action
- Send new followers a message of welcome and/or a valuable gift
Content strategy and omnichannel visibility take the guesswork out of creating and growing results/reach because of it. So that you start reaching(ing) more in less time.

- The perfect marketing and sales system
Most entrepreneurs think they will figure out the sale "later. Big mistake. You need to implement your marketing and sales process from day one. After all, without sales, no revenue. Without sales, no right to exist.
My proven sales system consists of 3 steps:
1. Qualify leads by completing an application form. This removes lurkers and scrapers. You only want to call people who are willing and ready to buy, right?
2. In the first 15 minutes of your conversation, diagnose their goals, challenges and urgency. No hard closure. Just consultation.
3. When you feel it clicks, is right and appropriate, send a proposal. Make acceptance and payments easy and automated whenever possible. Onboarding begins immediately.
Every step is automated whenever possible. The less time you spend on administration, the more time you have to spend on the things that really matter. Your customers in this case.
- Hold yourself accountable for success and growth
The distance between your dreams and your reality is clarity, certainty and consistency. But how do you ensure clear direction, profitable strategy and consistent performance?
I map out the responsibilities of myself as well as my team of freelancers I work with on a quarterly basis. I do this based on my strategic annual plan, which I divide into quarters. After which, every week, every month and every quarter, I analyze the successes and lessons learned and can direct them directly to make my dreamed successes and growth a reality.
Master class: From Dream to Reality
- You can scale up processes and systems. You can't.
When I started my business, I was 100% the system. Every process lived in my head. Nothing was documented. As a result, at one point I myself became the bottleneck preventing me from scaling up and growing.
I optimized my business processes and systems, I scaled up by, among other things, expanding my team of freelancers to buy back my time. And I prescribed SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures):
- Value and content creation
- Sales Process
- Onboarding new customers
- Team, responsibilities and collaborating/working together
That's how I freed myself up and regained my time to spend it again on the things that really matter. Both professionally and privately.
